Hey y’all! Wendy and Tracey here to share our mission adventures with you.  In between trying (and failing) to set up a “big” mission trip by ourselves and meeting Carolyne and Bri we had a friend suggest the Send Relief Serve Tour as a mission trip.  The Serve Tour is a series of weekend service events that seeks to impact communities in Jesus’ name.  After reading about the Serve Tour, we decided that we didn’t feel called to serve in places within driving distance.  God has impeccable timing, and our next bible lesson was on the necessity of being faithful in the small things before you are ready for big things.  Hearing God loud and clear we signed up for the 2024 Serve Tour stops in Augusta, Dallas, the West Virginia coalfields, Flint, and Brownsville.

Augusta, Georgia was our first stop and we signed up for two activities- Grill Walk in Grovetown and Care Baskets for Foster Families. The first day was the grill walk.  The centerpiece of our grill walk was a gas grill and prep table mounted to the back of a van.  As the van and the grill slowly made its way through the large trailer park our group went door to door offering free made-to-order hamburgers, prayer, and the gospel to anyone we met.  We handed out 400 hamburgers and prayed for lots of folks.  Most importantly two people accepted Jesus as their savior during the grill walk.  The next day we filled and delivered care baskets to foster families.  In the morning we filled laundry baskets with laundry detergent, hangers, kid’s activities, snacks, and gift cards.  We made handwritten cards to thank and encourage the foster parents.  After lunch we delivered the baskets.  We were able to pray with each family when we dropped off the baskets.  Our weekend in Augusta was all about serving the community and loving our neighbors in Jesus’ name.  Even small things done in His name can have a big impact.
